Become a Farmers’ Market Vendor

You can't have a Farmers' Market without farmers....or market gardeners....or people who plant too much and don’t want it to go to waste!

The Bella Coola Farmers' Market also warmly welcomes vendors who sell baked goods, arts, crafts and specialty items.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Read and agree to the market guidelines.

  2. Fill out the vendor application form on this page or print a copy of the application and email it to the market manager for approval prior to selling.

  3. If you are a food vendor, find out if you need a permit to sell your food product. If yes, you must obtain your permit and provide the market manager with a copy prior to selling your product.

  4. Pay your table and membership fees prior to selling. Payment can be made at our site clean-up day, 10 am on the Sunday before opening day (Father’s Day). Payments will also be accepted on market days before 10 am.

  5. Daily drop-in vendors must pay fees to market manager (at the BCFA table) prior to setting up their tables.

Check out our Farmers’ Market FAQ’s below.

  • Results from a community survey showed that customers would like to buy more local produce & eggs, homemade bread, sweet & savoury baking, jams & jellies, Ready-to-Eat foods like sandwiches and pizza, dried fruit, herbs & herbal remedies, jewelry, wood crafts, and pottery.

  • As you plan your garden, here are the types of local produce that people are looking for: spinach, carrots, hot and sweet peppers, squash, herbs of all sorts, greens including arugula, mixed baby greens, cabbage, broccoli, onions, garlic, strawberries, snow peas, corn, celery, microgreens, green onions and beets.

  • Community Table Guidelines

Only vegetables, fruit, seedlings, saved seeds and local eggs are sold at the Community Table.

The Community Table is a great way to sell extras from your garden, and support the market at the same time. You can also donate your produce to the Community Table.

Bring your cleaned, bagged and priced produce to the market between 9am and 9:45 am and we will sell it for you. Come back at 1 pm to pick up your proceeds. We keep 10% of the profit to support market operations.

If you intend to sell a large number or variety of produce over the whole season then getting your own table is a better option.

  • All vendors must purchase a $10 BCFA membership.

Please note that the outside table prices have been increased for the 2024 season.

Table prices vary whether you want to sell for the whole season (up to 17 market days) or as a drop-in day vendor; you are younger than 18 years of age.

For example: in 2024, an adult vendor will pay $50 for the entire season, or less than $3.00 per day if they attend all markets.

  • Yes! You can fill out a paper form at the Quonset Hut Cleanup event at 10 am on the Sunday before Father’s Day (927 Hwy 20) or print the form linked above and drop it off on the same date.

You can also drop by the Bella Coola Foodshed Alliance table at the market and get a copy there.

Remember, your products must be approved for sale by the market manager prior to selling so it’s best to fill out a form and get approval before coming to the market with your products ready to sell.

  • The Bella Coola Farmers’ Market has limited tents and tables for outside vendors. We should be able to accommodate outside vendors with their own tent and table but each request will need to be decided on an individual basis.
